CACAO-TRACE™ - OUR SUSTAINABLE COCOA PROGRAM
Cacao-Trace™ is also a quality seal around the world. For every kilo of chocolate purchased, part of the revenue is paid to farmers in addition to what they normally earn. This allows farmers to make better chocolate because it gives them more time and ensures that the plants are cared for. At the same time, this ensures a higher yield and a better-quality yield.
Cacao-Trace™ chocolate is made only from the highest-quality cocoa beans, fermented and dried according to a very strict process. This drying process is carried out in close collaboration with the Cacao-Trace™ team to ensure that only the best beans are used.
Green Key Label
Green Key is an eco-label awarded to more than 3,000 tourist attractions in over 60 countries around the world. This eco-label is awarded to companies with an environmental approach within their business. In order to apply for this certificate, companies must meet a number of very specific criteria. Reducing water and electricity consumption, as well as minimizing waste, not to mention waste sorting, are the first steps to take in order to obtain this certificate. Every year, Green Key adds criteria to be met to ensure that companies are doing their best to respect the environment.
We are proud to announce that Maison Pliester has been one of the winners of this eco-label since January 2020 and that we are the only chocolate factory not only in Brussels but in the world to have obtained it.
