Our adventure
Experience authentic chocolate at Maison Pliester, a artisan chocolatier in Brussels since 1986. Located in Schaerbeek, our workshop invites you to discover the behind-the-scenes of Belgian chocolate making, meet our artisans, and explore their expertise. Guided tours, workshops, and tastings immerse you in a world rich in flavors, blending tradition, creativity, and passion for chocolate.
Cacao-Trace™
Cacao-trace™ is our sustainable and ethical cocoa program, as well as a symbol of quality around the world. For every kilo of chocolate purchased, a portion of the revenue is paid to farmers in addition to what they normally earn. This also ensures higher yields and better quality.
Cacao-Trace™ chocolate is made only from the highest quality cocoa beans, which are fermented and dried according to a very strict process. These two processes are carried out in close collaboration with the on-site Cacao-Trace™ team.
Green Key
Green Key is an eco-label awarded to more than 3,000 tourist attractions in over 60 countries worldwide. This eco-label is awarded to companies with an environmental approach within their business. To apply for this certificate, companies must follow a number of very specific criteria. These include reducing water and electricity consumption as well as decreasing the amount of waste produced. Each year, Green Key monitors all these criteria to ensure that companies are doing their best to respect the environment.
We are proud to announce that Maison Pliester has been one of the recipients of this eco-label since January 2020, and that we are the only chocolate factory not only in Brussels but in the world to have obtained it.
Belgian crafts
Legal recognition for artisans is granted by the FPS Economy. Since June 1, 2016, artisans established in Belgium can apply for this official recognition to highlight the authenticity of their activity, their manual expertise, and the quality of their work.
Maison Pliester proudly obtained legal artisan recognition in February 2020. This was renewed in June 2026 for another five-year period.
